About Deb Chamberlin

Deb has been singing, playing the piano and performing since childhood – growing up with her sisters, in church & school choirs, in high school plays & as a Music Theater Major in college, in original & cover bands, doing session & jingle work (including being the 'voice' of the nightly Pennsylvania Lottery Theme Song for 10 years), releasing 5 original music CD’s (produced by her music partner / husband, Robert Wynn) and as a musician for several New Thought spiritual communities in the Philadelphia/South Jersey/Delaware area for over 12 years.

After college Deb ran away with the circus – literally! Joining her professional dancer sister in Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus, she was a showgirl (dancing & performing aerial Spanish web act) and private school teacher to a 9 year old trapeze flyer… living on the circus train and performing in different American cities every week for 2 years. Years later, her original screenplay, “Sawdust and Glitter,” about a young woman who runs off to join the circus – was an Official Finalist in the 2011 Nevada Film Festival. (Anyone want to produce a circus movie?! )

Eventually landing in New York City for about 15 years, she trained with world renowned vocal coach, Katie Agresta (whose celebrity students include Cyndi Lauper, Bon Jovi, Annie Lennox, Stephen Tyler & countless others) and became Katie’s head Assistant Teacher when she opened a vocal school in the late 1980’s. Deb has taught many hundreds of singers from beginners to pro’s (including Carole King, Tom Keifer of ‘Cinderella’ & more) in New York City and South Jersey.

After having a daughter in 1996 and making 2 life-changing trips to Israel in 1999 & 2000 – Deb’s focus expanded beyond her own dreams to family, community and global concerns. In 2003 she co-founded and co-directed a teen non-profit for 9 years – the Changing Our World (COW) Project - that gave young people a platform to make a positive difference through sharing their voices in the world. COW became known throughout New Jersey, performing their original multi-media shows (combining music, dance, acting, comedy, video, spoken word and art) that addressed relevant issues (bullying, diversity, family and social relationships, depression, etc) for school assemblies, community events and state conferences for the NJ Human Relations Council. Their original music video (for “We Can Change Our World, co-written by Deb) won awards in the Garden State & Delaware Valley Film Festivals.

With a passion for bringing people together for shared visions, Deb organized a 10-day USA cultural identity tour in 2006 for a delegation of 20 Arab and Jewish Israeli teens from Peace Child Israel, an Israeli NGO devoted to creating peaceful co-existence through friendship and theater arts. With 6 diverse teen groups hosting them for workshops and performances in NJ, PA and D.C., their grand finale gala filled the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia with over 500 people celebrating their vision for peace and diversity. The American and Israeli teens joined together singing their anthems for peace – including “The Time Has Come” co-written/produced by Deb and Robert. Deb - and her COW Project also performed the anthem during halftime at a Philadelphia Sixers Game. These courageous young people, most of whom came from challenging life conditions, were empowered and inspired through their experiences in COW to go forward into adulthood with more confidence and purpose for their lives.

Besides her music, Deb’s passion is supporting artists and professionals in using their self-expression and the creative process to help awaken more love and compassion in their lives and in the world. Integrating all of her life experiences, including energy healing, artistic and professional training, she created The Awakened Artist: Coaching, Courses and Community – offering classes and coaching (on zoom and in person) to deepen our understanding and practice of the universal creative principles, as well as private online groups for building a global community of conscious creators with a shared vision - to co-create a world that works for everyone.
